Who I am
I am a Psychologist, a Transactional Analyst Psychotherapist (CTA),
and a Dance Movement Psychotherapist in advanced training.
I work integratively using Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, and Body Therapy elements in a relational framework. I believe that as humans we are a unity of body, mind, thoughts, and emotions; often the distress shows via the body, in different ways. This is why we will listen to its messages, trying to bring them to awareness.
I provide therapy in English, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Why Psychotherapy
Therapy is about being seen, working together in a safe relation, be sure of not being judged, and to work together towards your objectives.
You might feel stuck in the past because of trauma or confusing upbringing, you might freeze when thinking about your future, you might feel to be losing on life, or maybe life is not working out the way you want. Perhaps, you don’t even know what is happening to you, but you feel overwhelmed.
Therapy can help you with this by offering you a nurturing environment where we can talk about your difficulties. This can lead you to a deeper understanding of yourself and your worries, which can be the first step for real change.
How I can help you
My approach is guided by the “I am OK – You’re OK” principle of Transactional Analysis: people are born OK and can re-decide their own life. I believe that a person can change their dysfunctional relational and behavioural patterns, if and when they are provided with a facilitating and nurturing environment.
Everyone has the right to feel proud of themselves.
Therapy can help you to make new decisions about these patterns.
I work especially with:
- Eating Disorders
- Emotional Overeating
- Trauma
- Work-related Stress
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Anger issues
- Low Self-Esteem
- Difficulty in connecting with people
Our journey
I know that starting psychotherapy can be anxiety-provoking as I’ve been there myself.
However, personally and professionally, I have seen that through therapy we can work on the relationship with ourselves and gain the confidence to change what we need to change in our lives.
I offer short- (8 sessions) and long-term (open-ended) therapy. Once you made contact, we will arrange an initial session during which you will tell me what you want to work on in therapy.
If you decide to go forward, we will agree to a regular session (once or twice a week) for 50 minutes. I aim to listen to you without any judgement, granting you space where you can explore whatever is in your mind.
I believe that therapy does not provide clear-cut answers nor quick solutions, but rather it is a co-creating process which requires a mutual commitment from both of us.
