Bio-Psycho-Social

The biopsychosocial approach understands anxiety, trauma, eating difficulties, body image distress, and relational patterns through three connected layers: body, mind, and relationships.

In my body-based psychotherapy in Brighton and online, we explore how your nervous system adapted, how attachment shaped safety and self-worth, and how beliefs, emotions, and coping strategies developed over time.

As a Counselling Psychologist integrating Transactional Analysis and Dance Movement Psychotherapy, I support change through talk, creativity, and embodied exploration.

“We heal not in parts, but as whole human beings — body, mind, and relationships.”

Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis (TA) offers a clear map of relational patterns, inner “parts”, and the Script we learn early about safety, closeness, and worth. It focuses on recognising your Ego States (Parent, Adult, Child) and how they shape feeling, movement, and relationship. These, together with Injunctions, such as “Don’t feel” or “Don’t be you”, and Drivers, such as “Be perfect” or “Please others”, create your Script. In body-based work, these patterns become visible, and changeable.

In my integrated approach, we go beyond theory. We track TA dynamics as they show up in the body, in posture, breath, impulse, tension, and the urge to move towards, away, or freeze.

Integrating TA with creative, grounding movement helps insight become embodied change, not just understanding.

“Understanding our inner dialogues gives us the freedom to rewrite our life Scripts”

Dance Movement Therapy

Dance Movement Therapy is the psychotherapeutic use of movement, sensation, rhythm, and creative expression to promote emotional, social, cognitive, and physical integration of the individual.

It is especially helpful when words feel insufficient, when the nervous system stays on alert, or when shame and body image pain live close to the skin. In sessions, movement leads and language follows.

We follow impulses, tension, breath, and gesture, using grounding, expressive exploration, journaling, and simple props, always with choice and consent.

“Healing unfolds when the body is allowed to speak.”

Dipendiamo Method

The Dipendiamo Method is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gritti (Italy) for the treatment of new forms of addiction, such as emotional dependency, internet addiction, work addiction, and compulsive shopping.

The method involves individual or group work and integrates verbal expression with the use of art and creativity, offering an expressive space to explore experiences, emotions, and deeper needs.

The aim of the Dipendiamo Method is not only to reduce addictive behaviours, but to address the inner emptiness that sustains them, fostering greater awareness, emotional integration, and freedom of choice.

“Addiction is not the problem, but the attempt to fill an inner emptiness that longs to be seen and cared for.”
